Everything you need to know about Soho House Manchester
The first Soho House in London was opened in 1995 by Nick Jones above his modest French restaurant. This members-only club was meant different from others in London; this club was for young film and media people socialising in London’s Soho. Now, Soho House has a firm foothold in hospitality, opening Soho Houses and public-facing restaurants all over the world.
Expected to open at the end of 2022, Soho House Manchester will join an esteemed list of Soho Houses around the globe. Not just an exclusive club, it will also be very cool - so we want to know all about it.
Soho House Manchester will be located on the top three floors of the old Granada Studios warehouse in Spinningfields. It will become home to Cecconi’s Restaurant and Mollie’s Motel & Diner, not to mention a members-only luxury rooftop pool and bar.
While the rooftop pool will be for members’ use only, non-members can still make the most of what Soho House Manchester has to offer. Cecconi’s delicious Venetian inspired-dishes can be enjoyed by both members and non-members, but booking in advance will be a must.
Mollie’s Motel & Diner will feature up to 140 American style motel rooms with beautiful contemporary interiors. It will also be home to a diner, a cocktail bar, a lounge, an event space and an outdoor terrace.
Back in April 2022, Soho House invited some lucky Manchester locals who had a Cities Without Houses membership to Soho house: House nights – an exclusive experiential evening where they were given an insight into everything that Soho House Manchester will offer.
There are three types of membership available from Soho House. Choose from the original Soho House Membership, giving access to everything including other Soho properties around the world. A Cities Without Houses membership allows you to join a creative community in your local city with access to Soho House, bedrooms and studios when travelling. Finally, there’s the Soho Friends membership which gives you access to studios, bedrooms and benefits at Soho House restaurants and retail brands. If you’d like to join, you can apply online although be warned - waiting lists are common.
If you’re not planning on becoming a member, you can experience Soho House as a guest of a someone who is - if you’re lucky enough to know anyone! Non-members can also stay in Soho House bedrooms around the world by adding a Soho Friends membership when booking. You don’t need to be a member to eat in the brand’s many global restaurants, and you can even buy a little bit of Soho House for yourself from its online shop Soho Home – have a peek at the website to get a feel for what you can expect in terms of quality.
The opening date for Soho House Manchester has yet to be confirmed but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for announcements.
