5 reasons to live at Elephant Park

Elephant Park is building more than 3,000 new residential properties in Elephant & Castle. But what is it actually like to live there? If you’re unfamiliar with Elephant and Castle, allow us to shed some light on what the area has to offer.

Reason number 1: It’s in Zone 1

For the city slicker, buying a home in London’s Zone 1 brings a whole new level of convenience. From shorter commutes to London’s hottest spots being mere stops away on the underground, it’s London living at its best.

Elephant and Castle is located in the borough of Southwark and acts almost as a transport hub for various London locales. Serviced by almost 30 bus routes, Thameslink and Southeastern overground lines, Bakerloo and Northern underground lines, and a main traffic junction offering easy access to the A3, it’s a good area from which to access lots of London.

To give you a few examples, King’s Cross St. Pancras station can be reached in 15 minutes by overground, St Paul’s in 20 minutes by underground, and The Shard in 20 minutes on foot.

Reason number 2: Green space

It’s called Elephant Park for a reason. At the centre of our development, you’ll find acres of curated green space which not only feature some of the original mature trees, but have also welcomed hundreds of new mature trees to central London.

We opened a natural play area, Elephant Springs, which gives local residents and visitors a place to sit back and take in the beauty of natural elements; hammocks hanging over sandy beaches, rain gardens which soak up precipitation and feed it back into the earth all tied together with spring water which bubbles up from stones in the ground.

Many of our apartments for sale at Elephant Park overlook the tree canopy itself, and offer views of rolling natural space, leafy trees and green grass. Where else do you find that view in London?

Fun fact: the grass in Elephant Park is actually made up of 26 different species to attract a variety of wildlife and increase the area’s biodiversity!

Reason number 3: Unrivalled restaurants

Elephant Park is already home to a community that loves its food. It’s a place where authentic, independent restaurants thrive – and there’s even more to come.

Our properties in Elephant & Castle are a stone’s throw away from both Sayer Street and Ash Avenue, Elephant Park’s main thoroughfares for dining. Sayer Street features local stars like The Tap In, Koi Ramen Bar, Sugo, Miko’s, Beza and Tasty Jerk. It’s a perfect lunchtime stop; a place to pick up a quick dinner, or indulge in post-work drinks.

Ash Avenue is set to become London’s newest park-side dining destination. Restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining, each with an alfresco kitchen-to-kerb proposition. Which means you can sit outside and take in the beauty of the park as well as the delights of whichever restaurant or café you’re visiting.

Elephant & Castle is also home to Mercato Metropolitano: street food market, entertainment venue, community and social space! And it’s only a short walk from Elephant Park.

Reason number 4: Creative communities

Elephant & Castle is a place where independent business and creativity thrives. Many of the businesses who opened their doors at Elephant Park already had a presence within the local area.

These creative communities are innovating and bringing new concepts and spaces to the area, particularly when it comes to retail.

Elephant Stores is a new multi-use space, featuring products from local makers and crafters. It’s also home to Little Louie, a café, bar and bistro featuring the best of Hi-Fi music, and Fix Your Cycle, Southwark’s answer to all your cycling needs.

You’ll also find businesses who pride themselves on quality service and unique concepts, dotted around the area. MoreYoga, Dima Beautiful, Hej Coffee, Crate to Plate and MMFactory are just a few of those who are trying new things and operating with a core ethos of making a difference within their community.

Reason number 5: Fixed-price, new build homes

Search for London properties on the likes of Rightmove and Zoopla and you’ll very quickly be flooded with homes, old and new, large and small, from across London’s boroughs – it can be overwhelming. With over 3,000 new homes underway at Elephant Park, we’re very clear about what’s on offer if you’re purchasing one of our new builds. Whether it’s your first one- bedroom apartment or a three-bedroom apartment you’re looking for, you’ll be spoiled by exceptional design, convenient amenities and manicured communal spaces.
